SENDCO
The Richmond School is looking for a SENDCo. This is a full-time position with a start date (ideally) April 2023 or earlier by mutual agreement.
Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance
We are looking to appoint a non-class based teacher to be our SENDCo. We are looking for someone who holds the National SENDCo Award, or is willing to work towards it, and who has a strong desire to work with us to provide the best outcomes for our amazing children. Although non-class based, this position will come with up to 0.4 teaching commitment.

Key Responsibilities
- Leadership of SEN and inclusion and supporting the school in securing effective education for all pupils
- Coordination of children under the Lincolnshire Behavioural Ladder of Intervention
- Have a core role in shaping and monitoring inclusion across the whole school
- Promote and demonstrate the school’s values and aspirations and create a culture of excellence, equality and trust
- Communicate a compelling school vision and a culture of high staff morale
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the School Development Plan
- Secure excellent teaching and support for SEND learners including access to inclusion support services.
- Be part of the Senior Leadership team, meeting with the Headteacher and SLT
- Implementing and monitoring SEND and behaviour focused intervention programmes
The Ideal SENCO
- Must hold a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Has experience of the SENCO role, particularly assessments, EHCP process, PSP administration and annual reviews
- Ideally experience within a similar school setting but not essential
- Has an understanding of quality curriculum provision
- Understands barriers to learning and effective ways to overcome these
- Ability to manage time and work to deadlines
- Can build and maintain excellent rapport with staff and students
- Is resilient, flexible, resourceful and positive
